Fluorspar is the commercial name for fluorite, a mineral whose principal chemical component is calcium fluoride (CaF2). It is used as a fluorine-industry raw material and as a flux in metallurgical processes.
Powder offers fine particle form for chemical processing and metallurgical use. Lumps provide natural or processed coarse feed. Briquettes agglomerate fine material into a consistent form that can simplify handling and charging in metallurgical operations.
Published ranges include acid-grade powder above 97% CaF2, metallurgical powder from 85% to 95%, lumps from 75% to 98%, and briquettes from 75% to 95%, with impurity limits varying by grade.
